Rabbi Shimmy Steinmetz joined Adath Israel in 2024 as its Rabbi and spiritual leader. Prior to joining our community, Rabbi Steinmetz served as the Rabbi of the Albert Einstein Synagogue, Congregation Birkat Shmuel. After receiving semicha from RIETS at YU, Rabbi Steinmetz continued learning as a fellow in the Wexner Kollel Elyon at RIETS. Previously, he served as the rabbinic intern of Eitz Chayim of Dogwood Park in West Hempstead, NY, and as the Camp Rabbi and Rosh Kollel of Camp Lavi for two summers. Rabbi Steinmetz began disseminating Torah in his hometown of Woodmere, NY, at shuls, including the Young Israel of Woodmere and Aish Kodesh, and continues to give shiurim on a vast array of topics not only in our community but to outside organizations as well, including the Jewish Physicians Network. Rabbi Steinmetz and Rebbetzin Eliana are the proud parents of three wonderful children, Hadassah, Moshe Boruch, and Yerachmiel.
